The NFL History Channel (now WORLDHISTORY2012), originally entitled the Exhaustive Expository Concordance of the NFL, was located at nflhistory.com from 1997-2000 and at nflhistory.org from 2004-2009. The NFL History Channel was created through the research of one individual into the chronological history of the National Football League. The following pages contain scores to every Superbowl, Championship, and playoff game. The Professional Football Hall of Fame members are listed along with a profile review. The nostalgia section relives some of the NFL's Greatest Moments. There are references to several excellent football books; including the Official Encyclopedia of the NFL, TOTAL FOOTBALL. NOTE: Certain sections have not yet been converted.

1948 Philadelphia Eagles - VIDEO The Philadlephia Eagles appeared in 3 consecutive NFL Championship games from 1947-49. In 1947, the Chicago Cardinals defeated the Eagles, 28-21 at Comiskey Park in Chicago. The 1948 Championship game was a rematch of the previous year (1947) which pitted the Chicago Cardinals against the Philadlephia Eagles. A heavy snow blanketed the field at Shibe Park, which made for near impossible playing conditions. Neither team could pass effectively, and the Chicago Cardinals, playing without injured quarterback Paul Christman, threw for only 35 yards, while the Eagles Tommy Thompson was held to only seven. The game was scoreless until the 4th quarter. Steve Van Buren, who powered for 98 yards in the contest, scored the winning touchdown in the final period, after the Cardinals fumbled on their own side of the field. The Eagles won, 7-0. It was the Eagles first successful NFL Championship title victory. In 1949, weather conditions again played a key role in the game. Philadlephia went west to play the high powered offense of the Los Angeles Rams. Despite a muddy field caused by 3-inches of rain, Steve Van Buren set playoff records with 31 carries for 196 yards rushing. The first touchdown of the game came in the second quarter as a result of the Eagles only effective passing in the game. Tommy Thompson threw for 68 yards and completed 3 passes on the drive for 58 yards. The last, a 31-yard strike to Pete Pihos. The final touchdown was scored on a blocked punt return, and the Eagles won the game, 14-0.
